Our story is rooted in generations of family involvement in the automotive industry.
The Ellis family’s automotive roots began in Missouri, where the first generation of the family built a business around automobile dealerships. John Ellis followed his father into the industry, operating dealerships in Missouri before bringing the family’s automotive legacy to Atlanta.
RBM was first incorporated in 1963 and opened its original location on Pharr Road in Buckhead the following year, bringing Mercedes-Benz to the Atlanta market. In 1970, John Ellis acquired RBM, beginning a new chapter for both the dealership and the Ellis family.
Over the decades that followed, RBM grew from a single Atlanta dealership into a broader family of automotive businesses, built on a commitment to exceptional service, lasting relationships, and doing business the right way.
Today, John’s children, Casey Frames and David Ellis, represent the third generation of the Ellis family in the automotive industry. Under their leadership, that legacy continues through RBM Automotive Group, honoring the foundation built by the generations before them while thoughtfully shaping what comes next.
Today, RBM Automotive Group represents eight dealerships across Georgia and South Carolina, including Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Land Rover, INFINITI, Subaru, and Nissan retailers. While each dealership has its own history, personality, and connection to the community it serves, they all share the same philosophy:Â people come first.
